CTHF Partners with TrueCare to Expand Healthcare Access at Del Mar

Following a successful event in 2025, the California Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Foundation (CTHF) once again partnered with TrueCare to bring healthcare services directly to the backstretch community at Del Mar on July 22. TrueCare’s fully staffed mobile medical, dental, and podiatry clinics provided care to 48 individuals during the event. In addition, 88 vaccines were administered and 100 bags of food were distributed to members of the backstretch community.

“We started working with TrueCare in early 2025 to provide medical and dental services to the backstretch community at San Luis Rey, so it was a natural next step to expand those services to Del Mar during the summer meet,” said CTHF Executive Director Jordyn Egan. “While our clinics at Los Alamitos and Santa Anita are open year-round, it can be difficult for backstretch workers to get back up north during the busy Del Mar meet. Our partnership with TrueCare helps bridge that gap by bringing essential healthcare services directly to them.”

TrueCare’s mobile clinics will return to Del Mar on August 19, and CTHF representatives will continue to be on site throughout the meet to connect members of the backstretch community with healthcare and supportive services as needed.
